Introduction
Taxi driver, truck driver, the guy crouching on the street, the grocery store owner who is obsessed with Tetris and ignore me, the delivery man, people waiting outside the restaurant and waiting, someone alone, tourists, people sitting together, friends and couples.
They all have one thing in common. They're all looking at their mobile phones.
Why are they all looking at mobile phones?
What's on the mobile phone?
Social media
instagram, facebook, snapchat, wechat
Functional app
deliveroo, uber, goole map, tripadvisor, booking, applepay
We almost can do everything with our mobile phone,
Mobile phone is not only a communication tool, but also an indispensable tool for life.
It is the window we connect with the world.
But why do they sit face to face looking at their cell phones instead of talking to each other?
Mobile phones close the distance between people in time and space.
Make our life more convenient.
But to some extent, it deprives us of time to communicate with friends and family.
Does mobile phone shorten the distance between people or alienate the distance between people?
Is the distance between people getting farther because of mobile phones?
Should we rethink the relationship between mobile phones and people?
Should we put down our mobile phones and spend more time talking to family, and friends?
With these questions
I started this project.
I decided to do a market sell and interview people.
Market sell
First I thought of a slogan for the market sell.
Near near better better
When people sit face to face, no longer looking at their mobile phones, speechless.
It's about putting down your cell phone and communicating with each other.
By communicating, people become closer.
I choose the product with high utilization rate.

Interview
1.Do you think the distance between people is getting farther because of mobile phones?
Feedback
Amy
Some people are alienated by mobile phones.
But more people, because of the mobile phones, can keep more intimate contact.
So, they all chose it by themselves.
Benny
The distance between people has emotional distance, physical distance
Modern people hold their mobile phones all day long. They can pick them up as soon as it rings. They don't even know what news they want to see.
Personally, I don't like to use mobile phones to communicate with people, such as family members, relatives and friends.
I hate meaningless greetings, and I think I just don't want to express my feelings on a screen.
Charles
It's not a cell phone, it's a difference in time and life circle and it's also a difference in the progress of growth. The topic of chat is different. Some people just don’t know the things you are talking about, so even you try to communicate with them, so you naturally don't bother to communicate. Less topics alienate us.
Debbie
Definitely because of mobile phone!!!
My ex-boyfriend and I had been ambiguous for a while after we broke up for various reasons. One night at 11 o'clock, he suddenly tweeted that he missed me, wanted to have a drink with me, and had a good chat with me. I said too late. But my heart was still vaguely expecting it. Maybe it would be a confession? Maybe it will be reconciled. Maybe it will be ...... Can't describe it!
After half an hour's chatting with me, he finally decided to come to my house and talk with me. It was in the middle of the night and I was in the East of the city and he was in the west of the city. I promised and said, "You'll be here in one hour. I'll sleep for a while first. Call me when you arrive." Then I fell asleep with a smile, holding my phone tightly, wondering what clothes I would wear.
By the time I woke up, it was daybreak... Look at the cell phone. He called me 15 times and sent me more than 20 messages.
Thanks for the late-night disturbance -free function. He waited for an hour downstairs and went back silently.
I still don't know what he wanted to talk to me that night.
Emma
There is only one answer. It’s all about the people themselves.
Mobile phones are mass-produced, everyone are using them, Is everyone alienated?
Will the cell phone jump out and beat the people who use the cell phone so as to prevent the relationship between people?
So it’s not about the mobile phone.
2.Does cell phone shorten the distance between people or does cell phone alienate the distance between people?
Feedback
Andy
Close the distance between you and strangers, but alienate the people around you.Always feel thatwhat exists is reasonable, whether it is good or bad has become a part of life, and indispensable. The point to consider is how to use mobile phones to close the distance of people around us.Perhaps this is our nature. Always yearn for mystery and unknown, and suppress the feelings of people around them.
Brian
The furthest distance in the world is not between life and death
It's me in front of you and you're playing with your cell phone.
Cynthia
It’s depends on people themselves, how you use it, for me there is no alienation, in this era it is obviously inappropriate to writing letters, mobile phones naturally become the most convenient communication tool.
Everything should be appropriate, alienating the relationship between people is not the intention of mobile phones.
Dolan
I don't know if the distance between people was not close in the beginning or it coursed by the mobile phones.
Everyone paly with their phone when I meet with them. I think the trends is hard to resist. I just hope they cherish the people around them and not just play with my mobile phone.
Conclusion
Through this project I want people to rethink the relationship between mobile phones and people, spent more time communicate with the people around them.
Just like my slogan.
Near near better better
Because every environmental bag is made by hand by my friends and me, but it takes a lot of time to make it, and most of the customers don't care whether slogan is sewn by hand or not. Instead, they worry about whether it will fall down when they wash it. I think it will be much better to find a manufacturer to print it next time. Save time cost and reduce material cost.
